Vanessa Lovestone

Vanessa Lovestone, formerly known as Donna V. Howard, was born in Chicago, where she began her career as a vocalist and actress. Working at the legendary Old Town School of Folk Music, which was a school and performance venue showcasing some of the finest Folk, Blues and Jazz artists, she was not only able to hone her guitar skills, but as assistant manager, she was able to perform with some of the finest musicians and Jazz and Blues ensembles in the city of Chicago.

Vanessa eventually made her way to New York, where she enrolled in the Harlem Theatre Company, while earning a two-year certificate. As a theatre actress, she began performing in many productions, including Ishmael Reed’s play C Above C Above High, which was presented at the Black National Theatre Festival in Winston, NC. She took some time off from performing to teach drama for the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, the YMCA and the Pelham Art Center. She was also a resident artist for the Westchester Arts Council.

After taking a hiatus from performing, she is excited about returning to the stage and welcomes this opportunity with an open heart, in hopes that she will be welcomed with open arms. In addition to her many creative endeavors, she is currently recording her original songs for her upcoming album with Rad Records.
